The Boston Red Sox (62-48) beat the Oakland Athletics (53-55) 2-1 Friday night in a tight 12 inning battle. Both of Boston’s runs came from newly acquired outfielder Jason Bay, who was involved in a three-team trade. Bay was brought in to replace Manny Rameriz, who was traded to the Dodgers. He led things off in the 12 by hitting a clutch triple, and eventually scored on a Jed Lowrie single. After almost seeing a no hitter in last nights game (Angels pitcher John Lackey pitched 8 1/3rds innings of no hit ball), fans will be in for another great game between the Los Angeles Angels (66-40) and the Boston Red Sox (61-47). Yeah, these two meet up again this weekend.
