Milwaukee’s 9th run effort not enough to beat the Dodgers 8/17/08
Monday, August 18th, 2008On Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers (64-60) defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (71-47) by a score of 7-5 to remain tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks atop the NL West. The win came largely from the bat of Andre Ethier, who had two homeruns in the game, including the 2 run walkoff to end the game. Milwaukee actually managed to tie the game in the top half of the 9th by scoring 4 runs to bring the total to 5-5, and the momentum looked to be in their favor. But Andre Ethier had other plans. His two homeruns, combined with teammates Matt Kemp and Manny Rameriz homers, helped give the Dodgers to win to remain competitive in the NL West.
Joe Beimel (4-0) was given the win, and Carlos Villanueva (4-6) was charged with the loss.
