The San Francisco Giants (49-66) beat the Los Angeles Dodgers (49-66) 3-2 Saturday in a game that featured many Giants legends of past years. With the bases eventually loaded, Giants outfielder Aaron Rowand stepped up to the plate and hit a RBI single through a drawn-in infield to give the Giants the walkoff win. “Any time you get an opportunity to have a walkoff, game-winning hit, those are some of the most exciting moments in your career, stuff that you don’t forget,” said Rowand.

This exciting game followed a pregame ceremony celebrating the Giants’ 50th anniversary in San Francisco. Many Giants outfield legends, like Willie Mays, Felipe Alou, and even Barry Bonds were honored.

In an important NL West matchup that pitted reigning NL Cy Young winner, Arizona’s Brandon Webb, against Derek Lowe of the Dodgers, the outcome seemed certain.
